......... I see so many posts about how 'The Voice of Addiction' is turning lives upside down. It once held me in the vice of it's power. It was the fight of my life to KICK BUTT, and there were times when I wondered if I would ever make my way to being nicotine free.

Not one of us ever came to the Q for the fun of it. Not one of us ever came here because we wanted to continue smoking. WE KNEW !! We knew we had to quit, whatever our reason. Ask yourself right now ~~ why did you come to the Q ??

Was it to get help in quitting smoking ? I suspect the answer is yes. Why then, after you start your quit, do you think that you would start wondering if you were ready to quit ? That the excuses would start happening and we would start finding all kinds of reasons to smoke ?

THAT IS THE ADDICTION SPEAKING...........

let's do an honest reality check here: in your rational mind, do you know that nicotine does not empower your life in ANY way? You also know that you are addicted to a deadly substance. A substance that is creating hell in your life. It doesn't matter what your personal hell looks like. Nicotine kills. It literally takes your breath away. There is no way that the drug nicotine helps your in your mind, body or soul. It is a KILLER !! But you already know that.

Have you ever heard how hard that Crack or Heroin is to quit ? I have heard that Nicotine is even harder to quit. Who is talking in your life about your quit ? You have seen, read or heard about people going into rehab all the time to "kick the addiction". Those people have reached the end of their sanity to the addiction. We are no different here at the Q ~~~ only we do not have a place to go as an inpatient. We have the Q!!! The addiction to nicotine is as serious as that of alcoholism, speed, cocaine, pot, or heroin. It just comes packaged a little more socially accepted. In 2009 tho, it isn't even socially accepted anymore. You know you feel looked down on for smoking. I have also felt that. I remember feeling like I was just not even worth the effort to quit.

When you came here, you were in some way at least thinking about quitting smoking. Maybe you didn't realize how strong an addiction this substance is........ I sure didn't ! It was just a bad habit !! RIGHT !!! Learning to live with your addiction is probably one of the most difficult things you will ever do. I promise you tho, it will be counted among your greatest of victories.

Happy Saturday to you!!!!!! Belated Happy Birthday Tman!

Up and going for the day today. Grocery shopping this morning and I have a couple of jobs to do around the house today. What will not be happening is smoking. Saying NO to smoking and moving forward along the Freedom Road. I offer my hand to the next winner joining me kicking ash to the curb today.,

Good morning. 12:55am in my little part of the world. Just checked the weather for today. Current temperature is 45° under clear skies. We have zero wind and 91% humidity. Our temperature will rise to 65° and sunshine abound. Another great day for a NOPE day.

Yesterday was a busy work day. Have reached the decision our leadership team needs and education on how to deliver corrective conversations. One young lady made an error, ok it happens, it wasn't a catastrophic event. They talked to her... Show more

Good morning! It's 1:32am. Running a little behind this morning. The snooze button and I had a meeting this morning. Now I am moving like lightening to get ready for the work day however I must say NOPE first! No smoking here today.

Weather is ok....52° currently, still dropping to the overnight low of 45°. After the sun rises we will warm to 57°. No rain today. 78% humidity, it's windy at 9mph. Air quality is good. Typical fall day in my neck of the woods.
