So we are on the tail end of my spouse's second bout with Community Acquired Pneumonia (first time was 4 years ago). Her first time with pneumonia she ended up in the hospital for 4 days. When she got out the hospital the first thing she did was light up!

This time I was extremely proactive and got her into urgent care early but they still transferred her to emergency for further evaluation because of her previous history of pneumonia. They gave here massive doses of antibiotics and steroids...

I hope she has a speedy recovery. I also hope she "see's the light" too but as we already know unless the person wants to quit it won't happen. Keep showing her the best example!

I have watched my spouse drag his iv cart down the elevator and outside the hospital to get his fix during a bad pneumonia episode. It was a few years ago, but I always wonder if this winter will bring the next round of that situation. Same thing here, if he feels even a little bit remotely like he's a little better and has an ounce of energy....he'll use it to go light up. I know it's addiction and I know I should have empathy and sympathy, but sometimes I want to just scream at him, maybe slap... Show more

Lovebuns told me the last time I had pneumonia, “Girl, if you don’t stop smoking, you’re going to die!” I quit not very long after. His coughing is on the increase but he does NOT want to stop. It’s the worst feeling in the world that we are helpless against their addiction, it sucks!!
